Product Manager at Boots

"I'm a Product Manager at Boots, based at their head office in Nottingham. My role is to lead stakeholders to develop their digital ideas into digital products that will support customers and instore colleagues. I have to liaise with a range of teams as part of my role to ensure that the best products are developed within a budget and timescale.

Prior to this role, I was studying for my PhD in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry in the School of Food Science and Nutrition. My PhD taught me how to be flexible, think outside the box and be resilient, as well as providing me with transferrable skills that I now use in a completely different area.

I miss the diversity, the multi-cultural environment and the care-free student life of the University of Leeds. 

My advice to those who are studying or interested in studying in the School of Food Science and Nutrition is to make the most of your learning time. Don't just learn the knowledge that you will need to pass your exams, but also ask questions and take advantage of the great and broad experience of both your lecturers and demonstrators."
