Food Science Summer School 2014

Terms and conditions

  • The Y12 Food Science Summer School is suitable for students in Year 12 (or equivalent) with an interest in the food science.  They should be studying science subjects, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Maths at AS level or other comparable qualification (Please see the main summer school page for details of entry requirements).
  • Due to the terms of the funding agreement with IGD, students may only apply to one of  the following summer schools , the University of Leeds Food Science Summer School or  the University of Reading Food Science Summer School.
  • A maximum of two applications will be excepted per school due to limited number of spaces available.
  • Bookings are taken on the understanding that students and parents have read, understood and will adhere to the terms and conditions and that all students attending the event are willing participants.
  • Delegates who do not have parental consent and/or have not sent the refundable deposit will not be accepted.
  • The £50 deposit cheques will be destroyed on attendance at the event, or returned if we are unable to offer a place. The cheque will only be cashed if the student cancels within 2 weeks of the event.
  • Delegates claiming a refund of travel expenses under the access to Leeds eligibility criteria must submit proof of travel expenses at the event.
  • The safety of delegates on the journey to and from the University is not the responsibility of the University. If the student fails to attend, or leaves early, the University shall not be held responsible and accepts no liability for their welfare.
  • The University accepts no responsibility for loss or damage of property.
  • Photographs taken by the University of Leeds during the event may be used in future publicity materials. It is the responsibility of the parent/carer to inform the University of Leeds of any student who does not have consent to be photographed.
