Teaching and Assessment

Assessment is by a range of methods, including formal examination, in-class tests, laboratory practical reports, example sheets, problem solving, project work and verbal presentations. Achievement of the taught Masters degree will be assessed by a variety of methods in accordance with the learning outcomes of the modules chosen for the year/programme. You will develop the ability to:
- Conduct independent in-depth enquiries within the discipline
- Apply breadth and/or depth of knowledge to a complex specialist area
- Draw on a range of perspectives in an area of study
- Evaluate and criticise received opinion
- Make reasoned judgements whilst understanding the limitations on judgements made in the absence of complete data
